Players Classic 2018

Players Classic has been established at Goodwood Motor Circuit for a number of years, however this was my first visit and definitely won’t be my last.

I knew very little of the event, other than it was going to be one of the biggest turnouts they’ve ever had, so with that in mind we decided (coming from Margate) a 7am leave was a must as we’d have a good 2 ½ hour journey ahead of us.

I only had access to the Sunday so it was going to be a case of cramming a lot into around 5 hours of show time. Saturday the track is live which gives a nice bit of variety to the show over say a purely static event! The main show and shine however is last doors around 4pm on Sunday so I still had plenty of time to get to grips with the strong wealth of automotive goodness that was on show.

I don’t want to keep banging the ‘variety” drum too much but my god…. with cars represented from just about every automotive manufacture from across the globe it was insane to see them not just turn up, but to do such a damn fine job of standing out too! With Rotiform and fifteenfiftytwo being big names in the aftermarket alloy world it was cool to see the variation of styles being represented and whether you are into slammed euro’s or beefed up muscle cars this year’s players show was ticking boxes left right and center.

Finally, a huge congrats to this year’s organisers, the show ran without a hitch and has kept that ever so sort after x-factor element of excitement but a chilled atmosphere that everyone seems to be craving these days, this show is all about grabbing some mates heading to the glorious historic grounds of Goodwood and just appreciating what the car scene is all about.

Ps. The Monster Energy monster truck displaying England’s massive 6-1 world cup win over Panama was a stroke of genius too ha!

Here’s some of what was on offer…the rest of the photos will be live on my Nick Simmo Photographer FB page follow this link to see more

Thanks
