Brooklands New Years Day Gathering 2018

Brooklands kicked off the car show calendar with a classics meet on day 1 of 2018. Turnout was fantastic, and frankly defied expectations following the celebrations which normally leave many with a humongous hangover!

I don’t think this ever caught many criminals!

The cars ranged from a hill climb spec Ferrari 328, to a Fiat 500 police car. From hot rods and rat rods that looked rapid from a standstill, to more eloquent British classics that would be right at home in a concours d’elegance event.

Beyond the Classics, there was a super and sports car section allocated in the heights complex, and live music filled the air that fitted well with their pre-1988 theme. Merchandise, car models and cleaning kits were sold by vendors on site and there were plenty of food and drink stalls around to satisfy everyone.

Overall, this was a show not to be missed. The rare, weird and wonderful were all on display at the event, and it did not disappoint.

Happy New Year to all, here’s to a full calendar of exciting and jam-packed car events in 2018!
